Exciting adventures await in this compelling cinematic concert piece for band. The music features memorable melodies, fun rhythms, and soloist percussion highlights, yet mixes in with the complexities of musical story-telling. This thrill of a composition works well as a concert opener/closer or soundtrack to promos, trailers, and films.

"How Adventures Begin" is a work about the eagerness, excitement, and also unknowns of a big occasion or story. It’s about taking the next big step to a greater voyage, with all the fear and inspiration you breathe in, and the anticipation of something incredible pushing you forward. After I completed grad school in 2022, I took on several amazing events, opportunities, and trips that made me feel like I’m in the middle of some sort of fictional story, one that I thought I could never be in. And for the next few months, I felt inspired to write a composition about taking those next big steps. My hope is that this work brings feelings of inspiration and courage to everyone, to not just live a fulfilling life, but to always seek it out and search for the adventures they wouldn’t dare dream of.
