"How Adventures Begin" is a work about the eagerness, excitement, and also unknowns of a big occasion or story. It’s about taking the next big step to a greater voyage, with all the fear and inspiration you breathe in, and the anticipation of something incredible pushing you forward. After I completed grad school in 2022, I took on several amazing events, opportunities, and trips that made me feel like I’m in the middle of some sort of fictional story, one that I thought I could never be in. And for the next few months, I felt inspired to write a composition about taking those next big steps. My hope is that this work brings feelings of inspiration and courage to everyone, to not just live a fulfilling life, but to always seek it out and search for the adventures they wouldn’t dare dream of.
