In September of 2020, I began my graduate studies as a music composition student at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University. This was my opportunity to enhance my composition technique and expand my knowledge in the field. One of the first techniques that I have gone over is 20th-century harmony and this semester was focused on implementing them in my pieces. This composition and the piece for two brass quintets called City Moderna are the results of nearly 3 and half months of hard work.

Vision Beyond The Stars was my third and final work of the first semester of graduate school. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different modulations, harmonies, and transitions. The piece itself is my representation of the human imagination, the working power of the mind and spirit to achieve happiness through the use of dreams. The path we choose to achieve it is then the next step forward. I consider this work to be a resounding musical illustration of my philosophical attitude towards the connection between people and music. We have to create the music, to live the dream. I hope you find this composition to be as enjoyable playing it as it was to compose it.
