The hymn that begins the piece is directly inspired by the United States Naval Academy's motto ""Ex scientia tridens," meaning "from knowledge, seapower". Mighty fanfares and moving melodies flow through the music, evoking the essence of authority over the seas.

Fanfare and Anthem for The Titans received an honorable mention by the U.S. Naval Academy Band in their 2021 Call-for-Scores Competition and received a world premiere by the Brass Ensemble on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Maryland.
